Clostridium botulinum and Clostridium tetani

Clostridium botulinum and Clostridium tetani are two species of bacteria that belong to the genus Clostridium. Both bacteria are deadly and can definitely kill you. So, here is a view of both bacteria! This is my first English post on Mega, so maybe there could be some grammar mistakes:) Again, no one is truly perfect, remember that:) Anyways, back on track!

Clostridium botulinum is a Gram-positive, rod-shaped, spore-forming, motile bacterium that causes Botulism, a mostly foodborne, potentionally deadly illness. The ilness is not caused by the bacteria itself but what it produces, Botulinum toxin or Botox, the deadliest known naturally occuring substance. Its mostly found in spoiled canned food or carcasses, and can cause bulging and mishaping of the can in canned food, due to the gas it produces.

Botulism is an ilness caused by C.botulinum. Its sympotms are blurred vision, trouble speaking, tiredness and more. The cause of botulism is mostly foodborne, like canned food and honey (for infants <1 year old). But also can be because of a high dose in cosmetics with Botox?? And speaking of botox, some cosmetics use it to prevent wrinkles.

Clostridium tetani is a Rod-shaped, Gram-positive bacteria that has a flagella to move around. It produces a toxin, not Botox, but Tetanus Toxin (TeNT), also an extremely deadly toxin. Its a soil bacteria but commonly associated with rust, especially rusty nails. 

Tetanus is an infection caused by C. tetani. Its most notable syptom being muscle spasms, but it also has other normal symptoms, such as headache, fevers and seizures. About 10% of cases are fatal. Its caused by C. Tetani, but C. tetani itself is a soil bacterium, so it can be caused by touching soil with a wound. But the most common cause is by rust, as it is mostly found outdoors, with small holes for dirt containing C. tetani. But, contrary to popular belief, Rust-free nails do and can cause tetanus, just with a smaller risk.
