Kegabutan jam 11 malam
Fern is lost in his thoughts, daydreaming under the wild larch tree as he becomes careless of the almost freezing breezes atop the Alps. His tummy is full of wild juniper berries, lingonberries and bilberries he gathered as he hiked up the way here. For now, all Fern wants to do is kick back, relax and chill for a while until a local tribe of hunters catches him. They located him nevertheless and started charging towards him.
“Crud!” Fern gets off from his rest and ran as fast as he could
The hunters chased him down through the treacherous pine forest downhill. Fern pants and runs for his life. Skipping onto slippery moss stones, dodging incoming pine trees, and running for dear life. Fern tried to take a peek back but was only greeted with a dangerously close flying arrows.
“Agh! Nevermind…!” He runs faster but then feels a strong impact at the back of his head.
The arrow hit the back of his head. It pierces through her brain and he can definitely feel it. His eyes began to blur out and he started to feel lightheaded. He can’t keep up anymore. Fern blacks out and collapses. Then slowly, it feels like his surroundings dissolve into nothingness.
Fern then woke up in a panic. He looks around but finds nothing. He is in a state of his own personal abyss. It’s pitch black in here. Only a cup of lukewarm tea and an old 1987 Macintosh II to accompany him here.
Fern sighs, “God knows how long I will be in here. I think I lost count of how long I lived in this world…” He boots up the desktop for a while before blasting a bright screen light to him. Fern hovers the mouse to the notepad and clicks it.
“Time accumulated in the overworld : 42 centuries” The cursor hovers above it
Fern couldn’t believe that it has been that long. The stabs he received, the explosions he encountered, the many ways he died horrendously just to keep doing it is unbelievable.
“I didn’t know it would be that much…w-when will all of this ends..?!” Fern creases his eyebrow in frustration. He doesn’t wanna feel death, he wants to find the meaning of it. But it’s already too late. Fern prays for his life as everything blurs out to white and sent back to the overworld.
“Here we go again..” Fern mumbles before it all turns to black again.
